Cosmetology is the study of the art and science of beautifying and improving the skin, nails, and hair and the study of cosmetics and their application.

Graduates of this course will have acquired the knowledge and skills to be successful in the cosmetology field and pass the TDLR State Board Exams. Upon licensure, employment can be obtained in a number of beauty related industries. The career opportunities for licensed cosmetologists are many, such as a product advisor for a variety of beauty products, platform artists, work for television studios, and some continue on to become an instructor in the field. Many choose to become business owners, such as owning their own salon or other beauty related business.  

 Admission Requirements:

The following are admission requirements for the cosmetology program:

• Must be at least 17 years of age
• Must provide a valid ID, Driver's License or Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• High School Diploma / Transcript showing High School Completion or GED (Victoria Beauty & Barber College does not admit Ability to Benefit Students)
• Provide Contact Information (2 References).
• Institute a financial plan with Financial Aid Office.

(Books, Kit, and smock are included in course tuition.)

Anyone enrolling for less then 1000 hours will have their tuition and length of time prorated. Transfer hours need to be available through TDLR prior to enrollment.

(The Class A Barber Crossover Course (300 Hours) is NOT eligible for financial aid assistance.)

Admission Requirements:

The following are admission requirements for the Class A Barber crossover program:

• Must be at least 17 years of age
• Must provide a valid ID, Driver's License or Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Students enrolling in the Class A Barber Crossover Course must have a current Cosmetology License and provide a copy of current Cosmetology License.
• High School Diploma / Transcript showing High School Completion or GED (Victoria Beauty & Barber College does not admit Ability to Benefit Students)
• Provide Contact Information (2 References).
• Institute a financial plan with Financial Aid Office.
